Product Operation
Before operating the bearing shells, it is necessary to ensure that the surface of the journal is clean and free of impurities. You can use a cleaning agent and a soft cloth to wipe the surface of the journal clean, ensuring that there is no dust, grease, or other dirt. Apply appropriate lubricant to the contact area between the bearing shell and the journal to reduce friction and wear. Select appropriate lubricants according to equipment requirements and follow the correct lubrication method.
Perform surface treatment on the bearing pads as needed to improve their performance. The commonly used treatment methods include surface coating, spray coating, heat treatment (such as carburizing, nitriding), hardening, etc., to increase the wear resistance, oxidation resistance, and corrosion resistance of bearing shells.
Note
When installing the bearing shells, use an appropriate amount of force. Avoid excessive force or knocking on the bearing shells to avoid excessive deformation or damage. Properly lubricate the contact area between the bearing shell and the journal to reduce friction and wear. Use appropriate lubricants and perform regular lubrication and maintenance according to equipment requirements.
The bearing shells have the following main functions:
(1) Support bearing: The bearing shell provides support to the shaft through its inner diameter, allowing the shaft to rotate stably without excessive friction and wear.
(2) Guide shaft: The fit between the outer diameter of the bearing shell and the bearing ensures accurate axial positioning of the shaft in the correct position, avoiding displacement and shaking of the shaft.
(3) Relieve friction: The upper ring of the bearing shell is usually coated with a layer of lubricant, such as lubricating oil or grease, which can form a lubricating film between the shaft and the bearing shell, reducing friction and wear.
(4) Load transfer: The bearing pads can withstand radial and axial forces from the shaft, transferring the load to other components of the equipment, such as bearings and bases.
Bearing shells are usually made of metal materials, such as copper alloy, aluminum alloy, etc. These materials have good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, and can maintain stability under high temperature and high pressure conditions
Sliding pad bearing: The upper ring is composed of sliding pads, suitable for high-speed and high load conditions, and can reduce friction heat and wear.
Elastic bearing shell: The upper ring is made of elastic material, which can absorb impact and vibration to a certain extent, improving the reliability of the equipment.
