Most industrial computer systems come with standard RS-232 ports. Although RS-232 has been widely used, its transmission rate, transmission distance and network capacity are still limited. RS-422 and RS-485 overcome the shortcomings of RS-232 by using differential signals to transmit data and control signals. The ADAM-4520/4522 isolation converter allows you to take full advantage of RS-422 and RS-485 on earlier RS-232 systems. It can transparently convert RS-232 signals into RS-422 and RS-485 signals. You do not need to change any hardware and software on the PC. The ADAM-4510S repeater can amplify or enhance existing signals, allowing them to travel longer distances. It could extend the communication distance by another 1,200 meters (4,000 feet), or add 32 more connections.
