An unsaturated lactone, the product is a waxy solid insoluble in water, melting point of about 51 ~ 52℃. AKD used in paper sizing agent must be made into emulsion, the particle size of the product is about 0.5 ~ 2μm, emulsion is white, and easy hydrolysis, so the general storage period is short, only 3 ~ 6 months. Due to the development of synthesis and emulsification techniques, the solid content of AKD emulsions can reach 40% or higher, and their hydrolysis and migration tendencies are greatly limited.

USES:

It is a reactive neutral sizing agent for paper making, mainly used for inner sizing of copper base paper, copy paper, file paper, dictionary paper and high quality writing paper. Sizing pH value up to about 8.0, solid can be called alkaline sizing, widely used at home and abroad. This product can also be used as surface sizing.
