Velum Prime shows strong and long –lasting efficacy against the major damaging nematode species especially, Meloidogyne sp. and Radopholus sp., combined with an unmatched safety profile. The active ingredient of Velum Prime, fluopyram, belongs to pyridinyl ethyl benzamide chemical class. Through its unprecedentedly low application rate, and its high intrinsic activity, it helps reduce the crop protection chemical load without compromising on efficacy. Velum Prime‘s low toxicity profile is revolutionary for a nematicide. Velum Prime has wide range of MRL’s and import tolerances established in overseas countries in order to facilitate produce marketability.
Features & Benefits:
Fast, effective and long-term control of key nematodesA revolutionary safety profile for operators and the environmentEfficacy at unprecedented low application rates while offeringHighest application flexibility and convenient crop managementGlobal marketability and widely established MRL / ITProfitable and sustainable farm management
Mode of action:
The active ingredient of Velum Prime, fluopyram, selectively inhibits Complex II of the mitochondrial respiratory chain in the mitochondria of nematodes. The mitochondria are the essential power plants of nematodes and their inhibition causes fast and severe depletion of the nematode’s cellular energy (ATP). Fluopyram is the first nematicide that acts via Complex II inhibition and thus represents a new mode of action for controlling nematodes. Following an application of Velum Prime, nematodes take on the shape of a needle and become immobile. The first symptoms of treatment occur about 30 min after application. Meloidogyne sp. Or Radopholus similis nematodes start to move more slowly and finally become completely paralyzed after 1-2 h.
