Benzyl alcohol is a colorless liquid with a mild pleasant aromatic odor. Benzyl alcohol is partially soluble in water

(4 g/100 mL) and completely miscible in alcohols and diethyl ether.

Uses

1. used as a general solvent for inks, paints, lacquers, and epoxy resin coatings.

2. used in the soap, perfume, and flavor industries.

3. Photographic developing agent, cleaning agent, and lens colorant.

4. Plasticizer in textile auxiliaries.

5. Chemical intermediate in medicine synthetic.
