Blacksummer truffle (Scorzone, or Tuber aestivum)

This type of black truffle is the most commercial truffle in theworld, and its habitat is across the globe. It belongs to one ofthe most widespread types of truffles. Therefore, truffleproducts such as truffle oil, truffle salt, Carpaccio, trufflehoney and truffle butter are mainly prepared by adding this typeof truffle.
The shape of the fruiting body is incorrectly rounded with mildbumps. Peridia are dark brown or black with large nippleoutbreaks. At the cross-section, it is slightly lighter brownwith large white veins.
The smell is pleasantand resembles the smell of mushrooms of medium quality. Theadvantage over other types of truffles is the wide ecologicalvalence.
We can find it from thevalleys through the hills to the beech belt. The plants withwhich it enters into the mycorrhiza are primarily all kinds ofoaks, grass, hazel, poplar, and linden. Fruiting bodies matureuntil late autumn.
