Manufacturing process

Starrox Quartz Stone surfaces incorporate high quality standards of excellence from the initial procurement of raw material to the final quality check. Highly skilled and trained staff members ensure the quality of a product that is unmatched in the industry today. Starrox Quartz Engineered Stone (QES) is manufactured through a very unique patented technology for the first time in India at Himachal Pradesh.

Inspection of all incoming raw material, this includes stone aggregates and resins.

Quartz crystal are then crushed into granules and sorted into different sizes.

We are the only Quartz Manufacturer in India with our very own In-house Resin Manufacturing Unit.

The mixture of Quartz & Resins is then cast in a mold of customized size.

This cast is then compacted with the help of a heavy duty hydraulic press to form sheets of stones .This sheet is then cured in oven and calibrated to the right gauge with the heavy duty calibrating line from Europe.

This calibrated sheet is then passed through a 16 head European polishing line to give it a permanent gloss.

The sheet is finally put through rigorous inspection and quality control before it is ready for dispatch.

FAQ

Q: What is Quartz Engineered Stone (QES)?

A: Engineered stone is also commonly referred to as ‘agglomerate’ or ‘quartz surface’. Engineered stone is a composite material made of crushed stone bound together by a polymer resin. A typical quartz material will consist of 93% quartz by weight and 7% resin.

Q: Where is Quartz Engineered Stone (QES) used?

A: Quartz stone is most suitable for kitchen countertops, flooring concepts and bathroom wall cladding etc. QES has both commercial and residential applications.

Q. Can Quartz Engineered Stone (QES) be used for External Application?

A: QES is not advisable for external or outdoor applications as it may lead to discoloration over a period of time.

Q: How durable is Quartz Engineered Stone (QES)?

A: QES is resistant to all kinds of cracks, chips, scratches and stains. However, like most materials, excessive force and/or pressure may cause damage to the surface.

Q: Is Quartz Engineered Stone (QES) porous?

A: QES surfaces are nonporous and this greatly reduces the potential for bacterial growth and mold thus making it excellent for use in Kitchen Countertops.

Q: How stain- resistant is Quartz Engineered Stone (QES)?

A: QES surface are nonporous due to the physical properties of the quartz component of the surfaces. Quartz in itself is an inert, non-absorbent mineral and therefore makes surfaces resist all stains. It is important to note that QES’s maximum stain-resistance qualities make sealers and waxes unnecessary.

Q: How do I remove stubborn stains?

A: Apply non-abrasive household cleaners or acetone/ nail polish remover (a non-abrasive cleaner will not dull the surface shine).

Q: Is Quartz Engineered Stone (QES) heat resistant?

A: QES is more heat resistant than other stone surfaces including most granite, marble and limestone; and is not affected by temperatures lower than 150oC (300F).

Q: What about surface and edge polishing?

A: The QES surfaces cannot be polished and the surface gloss is permanent and will not reduce with time. The QES edges can be polished similar to granite which will look exactly like the top surface when polished and can be molded into any kind of profile.

Q: Is there a need to follow any particular installation instructions?

A: Yes. Due to the Thermal Expansion and contraction of the QES certain installation guidelines must be followed.
