Overview:

The disc moves in a straight line along with the centerline of fluid. It usually is used for fully-opening or fully-closing, but not controlling the flow rate, except of being customized as adjusting flow or throttling. The valve could be operated by manual, gear box, electrical actuator, pneumatic actuator, etc.
