Castor oil is thick viscous oil that is derived from the castorseeds. Castor oil has been traditionally used to treatconstipation as it has strong laxative properties. It is alsoused in a number of ayurvedic preparations. It is a thick yellowcoloured liquid that has a fairly high boiling point at over 300°C. As a result, castor oil is being used as a lubricant in manyplaces. Further, castor oil is also used in the cosmeticindustry.
