DELLNER BRAKES SKD35-50-65-80 disc brakes are designed with symmetry in mind, featuring two identical parts. Each part includes two guide pins, strategically positioned to efficiently transfer tangential braking force from the friction plate to the brake body and mounting bracket. This design ensures that the brake piston is unaffected by any radial forces, significantly enhancing overall brake reliability and service life. When the loading pressure is released, two return springs in each symmetrical part of the brake disengage the friction disc from the brake disc and return it to its original position. Friction plate wear is automatically compensated for by increasing the piston stroke. The SKD series is suitable for various applications that require dynamic braking, static holding, and tension control. These applications include ship main thrusters, oil top drives, rewinders, wind turbines, anchor windlasses, lifting winches, amusement equipment, and unwinding systems, among others. DELLNER BUBENZER's KD disc brakes are direct-acting, with hydraulic or air pressure applied and spring-released units. The braking force achieved is directly proportional to the applied pressure. The SKD series can be delivered with two housing options, each consisting of one or several cylinders, and is available in both low-pressure and high-pressure versions, with various lining material alternatives.
