Founded in 1899, CNR Dalian Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. is a unique enterprise in the field of China Railway Transportation Equipment which is able to develop and overhaul large power AC diesel locomotives and electric locomotives, but also able to develop LRVs and Metro cars as well as large power diesel engines. The market share of its diesel locomotives has always been in the leading position in the same line, exporting to tens of foreign countries and regions, having a good reputation as “Cradle of Locomotives” both a home and abroad.
In October, 2010, DLD was established by CNR Dalian Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. for the purpose of integrating the R & D, manufacturing, assembly, testing and other advantages of resources integration of diesel engine.
Through self-design, technology introduction, technical digestion and absorption as well as re-development, DLD has formed 4 major series of diesel engines, (i.e., 240, 265, 270 and 280 series). Its main technical performance data of the engines have taken the leading position in China, reaching the advanced world-level technically. Its power range covers from 700kW to 7500kW with an annual production capacity 2 million kilo-Watts, 1000 sets of different series diesel engines and 500 sets of diesel generators being produced annually. The diesel engine production base in Lvshun covers an area of about 350,000 square meters, which is invested by CNR Dalian Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. It is expected to be delivered for operation in 2015. After the new plant putting into operation, DLD will rapidly expand its diesel engine production scale, improve its status in the international railway transportation equipment industry and in the general power equipment manufacturing industry, and enhance its international competitiveness.
DLD actively expands non-rail industry. Besides its diesel engine series products used in railway locomotives, its products have been widely used in commonly-used generator-sets and in multi-fields of emergency generator-sets, military and civil fields of marine main engines or auxiliary engines, engineering ships, oil fields, sea ports, construction machinery and other areas. Its generator-sets have been exported to Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and many other countries.
DLD, undertaking a glorious mission of upgrading its diesel engines, with the spirit of "Being integral and progressive, pragmatic and innovative" and with a mode of more open market philosophy and management, will strive to make its diesel engines become the sustainable development pillar industry of CNR and will stride to the development target of medium & high speed general power equipment base which is of the first-class domestically and renowned in the world wide.
