Cavendish banana is a herbaceous plant, 5–6 m tall, and is a perennial species. The trunk is round, soft, straight, with leaf sheaths. The leaves are large and long. The fruit is located in the chamber. There are 6–8 left. Each bunch has about 12 left. The Cavendish banana is small, long, and fragrant. When ripe, the rind is still green, but when ripe, the rind turns yellow. Bananas are delicious, with a mildly sweet taste.
Cavendish banana has a high nutritional value, including essential nutrients such as protein, fat starch, vitamins A, C, E, B1, B2,… especially pectin, a substance that aids digestion, is well absorbed, and is resistant to intestinal infections. Therefore, in recent years, this banana species has been grown in many areas in Vietnam to export to foreign markets such as the US, Japan, Korea, etc.
Bananas are commonly grown in Dong Nai, Long An, Tien Giang, Soc Trang, Ben Tre, and Vinh Long.
