
TThe purpose of introducing hydroxyl groups into fullerenes is to improve the water solubility of fullerenes, but only when the number of hydroxyl groups reaches more than 20 can they have better water solubility. Fullerol is insoluble in acetone and methanol, but soluble in DMF. Chemical properties are similar to those of fullerene.
