Light yellow crystal. Melting point 109ºC. Soluble in water, benzene and ethanol, slightly soluble in ether.
It can be used as an intermediate in the medicine anemone.
It is used to test alcohols and amines, and to measure phenolic compounds in atmosphere and water.
For the determination of alcohols, amines and their homologues; Glucose was measured in the presence of peroxidase.
