One of the two primary domestic kinds of Asian rice is the short-grain Japonica variety, often known as Sinica rice. In China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan, Japonica rice is widely grown and eaten. It is mostly cultivated in the regions of Dong Thap and An Giang in Vietnam.
