Erosion & Sediment Control Jute Soil Saver geotextiles (often referred to as Geo-Jute, Anti-Wash, Matting, Mesh, Netting, and Blanket) is an organic loose woven jute mesh used for erosion control, to hold seeds intact, and prevent soil erosion. It is installed after slope seeding, and is perfect for holding soil and grass seed in place during germination. Jute Matting absorbs the kinetic energy of the erosive elements (rain, wind, etc) and stabilize the soil surface, creating over this numerous micro-dams. 100% natural & biodegradable jute matting holds moisture for enhanced seed germination while stabilizing seed and soil on slopes during heavy rains. As the grass emerges and roots are established, the jute matting's fiber simply deteriorates, having a mulching effect.
