EJ-C1400 will impart both higher reactivity and crosslink density to epoxy resin formulations. Resins are derivated from an ortho cresolformaldehyde novolac which is then reacts with epichlorohydrine to form a polyepoxide. The molecular weight of the novolac determines the molecular weight of the polyepoxy resin whose functionality may range from 2.5 to 5.5. EJ-C1400 is used to modify standard epoxy resin formulations to improve flexibility and high distortion temperature. This epoxy resin functionality permits them to cross-link with hardeners and become part of the cured system. EJ-C1400 is ideal for adhesives, tire cord laminate and wet lay-up applications. Resulting in highly cross-linked thermoset polymers having good mechanical properties, good resistance to chemical and solvent resistance.
