Dear Customer . We are here to inform you that our new stock of Pure Red Mercury ( II) Powder are ready to deliver with the best and competitive price . This Ancient Greek cinnabar or Cinna barite is the scarlet to brick-red form of mercury(II) sulfide (HgS). It is the most common source ore for refining elemental mercury and is the historical source of the brilliant red or scarlet pigment called vermilion and related red mercury pigments. Cinnabar typically occurs as a vein-filling mineral associated with recent volcanic activity and alkaline hot springs. The mineral resembles quartz in its symmetry and in its birefringence. Cinnabar has an average refractive index close to 3.2, a hardness between 2.0 and 2.5 and a specific gravity of around 8.1. The color and properties derive from a structure which is a hexagonal crystal lattice belonging to the trigonal crystal system, crystals which sometimes exhibit twins. Cinnabar has been used for its color since ancient times in the Near East, notably as a blush-type cosmetic, in the New World since the Olmec culture, and in China since the Yongshao culture, where it was used to color sandstone. Modern precautions associated with the use and handling of cinnabar stem from the toxicity of the mercury component, which was recognized as early as ancient Rome. Thank you
