Photobiomodulation therapy, also known as low-level laser therapy (LLLT), is a form of light therapy that utilizes non-ionizing forms of light sources, including lasers, LEDs, and BroadBand Light in the visible and near-infrared spectrum. PBM works on a protein known as cytochrome c oxidase in mitochondria to energize adenosine triphosphate (ATP), nitric oxide (NO), and reactive oxygen species (ROS) production.
