Specifications

Sunny LF Series Colors (Firing Temp : 750°C-850°C)

There was a lot of difficulty of selling the On-Glaze Colors for decoration on ceramic kitchenware because of the Lead and Cadmium content. Most of countries limit the importation and selling of goods containing toxic compounds. Especially, the advanced countries regulation such as FDA and California law in USA are too strong to follow it. In these circumstances, our new Sunny LF Series Colors could contribute a lot for international ceramic industry and decal industry.

The Flux we used for this series color is free from lead and cadmium perfectly. And, we used pure raw material to make this series basically. So, we guarantee that it is perfect lead free colors.
However, it is inevitable to use a little cadmium for the following 5 colors LF4050 Yellow Green, LF8040 Red Orange, LF8050 Red, LF8030 Light Red, and LF3060 Yellow to make as bright colors as possible. Therefore, we recommend you to coat LF7055 Flux over these 5 colors to reduce the content of cadmium below than limit. The item numbers of 31 different colors we developed are as below.

The green colors with mark contain a little cadmium.
Sunny LF Series has both characteristic of bright color tones and stability of On-Glaze Colors. In addition, you can get In-Glaze affect if you do over coating LF7250 Flux (Flux 1: Oil 2, Screen 300 mesh) and fire the decal at 780 - 850.

  • LF1030 Non-Gold Pink has very clear color tone even if it does not contain gold. So, you can make good quality of various gold pink colors by mixing this color with small quantity of dark colors such as LF1010 Violet, LF1600 Gold Pink and LF1055 Magenta.
  • All the colors are inter mixable except the following 5 colors .
  • You can make very fantastic Navy Blue color by mixing LF1010 Gold Violet or LF1600 Gold Pink with some quantity of LF5070 Cobalt Blue and LF6050 Black.

Application
Screen Printing For Ceramic Decal or Glass Decal

Mixing ratio and screen mesh
You will mix Color and oil with the rate of 10 : 8 or 10 : 10 using 100T -150T of screen. You are recommended to use our normal Liquid medium SM-5151. In case of 4 color process printing or half tone colors printing, we recommend to use our Thixotropy Medium SM-5252. and Flux Coating Medium SMF-5353

For LF8050 Bright Red, LF8030
Light Red, LF5070 Cobalt Blue, you will use low screen mesh to make thick printing and so to make better quality of color. LF7055 Flux and SMF-5353 Medium will be mixedwith the rate of 10 : 8 or 10 : 10, to be printed over the decal and then fired at 840C to make
In Glaze Effect. But, Magenta and Cobalt Blue colors can be changed with Flux LF7055. So, we recommend you to give full test before you use the flux for both colors.

Cover Coating
24T - 32T screen mesh will be used. Our Film Solution SC-1234 is recommended.

Direct Printing
Water Base Medium Color You will mix Color 10: medium 5 and control the viscosity by adding distilled water. If it is dried while application, you can control the viscosity by adding some methyl alcohol. Silk Screen 200 -350 mesh can be used. But, Stainless steel mesh is not recommendable. We recommend you to use our Water base Medium E-80806.

Pine Oil Base Medium Color
You will mix Color 10: Oil 4.5 -5.5 and control the viscosity by adding Thinning Oil. Silk screen will be used and the size will be 180 -350 mesh. We can supply Powder type, Paste type and ermoplastic type. If you use our powder type, we recommend you to use our cold
medium C-40701 to mix.

Thermoplastic Medium Color
You will mix Color 10: Medium 2 -2.5 and use 180 -300 mesh of Stainless screen mesh. It can be melted at 65 -70 of Pot. Proper screen temperature will be 68 - 73. Printing room temperature must not be so lower than normal temperature. Besides, the temperature
of surface of the product to be printed on should not be lower than normal temperature. If the goods to be printed are too cold, then, it must be heated to make good quality of print.

Spraying
The Color 10: Water Base medium 5 -7 will be mixed and then 35% of distilled water will be mixed. To control the viscosity while the application, you will use some alcohol. We recommend you to use our Water Base Medium E-80804.

Dipping
There are water base medium and oil base medium to be used for dipping. You can use our water base medium E-80803 or E-80806.
The color 100: E-80803 medium 45- 55 can be mixed. If you get any pinholes or blister problem while application, you can control the viscosity by adding our SYC-410. You will mix the color 100 : E-80806 medium 50 -60. If it is dried while using, you can control it using our Thinning Oil.

Brushing
You can mix the color 100: Pine oil base E-80807. You can control the viscosity by using E-80807. You can also use E-80809 medium. The color 100: medium 30 will be mixed. You can control the viscosity using water while application.

Firing Temperature
Generally, the ceramic decal firing temperature is about 780 - 820. But, it will be different depending on the condition of ceramic products, firing kiln, the speed of conveyor belt etc. Basic firing temperature is as below.

Bone china
750°C- 790°C

Porcelain
780°C- 880°C

-You can make very fantastic Navy Blue color by mixing LF1010 Gold Violet or LF1600 Gold Pink with some quantity of LF5070 Cobalt Blue and LF6050 Black.

Stability
-Abrasion Resistance
Generally, the stability of abrasion resistance can tested in electric auto dishwasher for long time. Our Sunny LF series have been tested the same way and no breakage of design was found. However, thick printing of colors can bring bad effect to the abrasion resistance.

-Acid Resistance
There was no change of color and no sludge found after 24 hours passed under 4% of nitric acid at 22%.

-Pb and Cd Elusion
It was tested in 4% of nitric acid at 22 for 24 hours. Pb 0.02mg/sqcm and Cd 0.00 mg/sqcm were eluded.

Packing
Powder type: 5kg Plastic Bottle, 30kg to a master carton.
Paste type: 20 -30kg to a Plastic Drum.
Thermoplastic type: 30 -50kg in Steel Drum

Storage
- Powder type
It must be kept at dried condition. Damp will be the reason of defect. Before mixing with medium, the colors can be heated to take off the damp.

- Thermoplastic type
This is also kept at dried condition. You can increase the screen temperature to use damped color. But, the quality of print will be still no good.

Stability
-Abrasion Resistance
Generally, the stability of abrasion resistance can tested in electric auto dishwasher for long time. Our Sunny LF series have been tested the same way and no breakage of design was found. However, thick printing of colors can bring bad effect to the abrasion
resistance.

There was no change of color and no sludge found after 24 hours passed under 4% of nitric acid at 22%

-Pb and Cd Elusion

This is also kept at dried condition. You can increase the screen temperature to use damped color. But, the quality of print will be still no good.
