Canola oil, or canola for short, is a vegetable oil derived fromrapeseed that is low in erucic acid, as opposed to colzaoil.Canola oil is made at a processing facility by slightlyheating and then crushing the seed. Almost all commercial canolaoil is then extracted using hexane solvent[21] which is recoveredat the end of processing. Finally, the canola oil is refinedusing water precipitation and organic acid to remove gums andfree fatty acids, filtering to remove color, and deodorizingusing steam distillation. The average density of canola oil is0.92 gml.
