Sodium fluosilicate, also known as Sodium hexafluorosilicate; used as raw materials for the fluorination of water and other fluorinated. It is the raw material of sodium fluoride and synthetic cryolite, and mainly used in water treatment, glass and enamel emulsion, cosolvent, agricultural insecticide, etc.
Synonyms:Sodium Fluorosilicate; Sodium hexafluorosilicate; Sodium Silico Fluoride
Molecular formula: NA₂SiF6
CAS NO.: 16893-85-9
UN 2674 Class: 6.1 PG III
Application:
1. In glass industry, used as an opalizer for glass and enamel. In the production process of glass products, Sodium Fluorosilicate plays a role of opacification: During the process of high temperature melting, it is dissolved in glass, when it gets cooled and formed a saturated state, the precipitated particle crystallization produces light refraction, which forms opacifying effects.
2. In the wood industry, it can be used as a preservative to protect the space between wood and wall from corroded.
3. In water treatment industry, used for fluoridation of tap water and drinking water.
4. In industry production, used as raw material of Synthetic Cryolite and Sodium Fluoride.
5. In the pesticide industry, used as the raw material of insecticides.
