Traderex Ghana Limited offers raw,dried and whole soybeans. They offer the yellow and brown varietyin Grade 1 and Grade 2. All soybeans are odourless and with amoisture content of 12%. The following specifications arefollowed grade-wise:

Grade 1

Moisture Content- 12% , TestDensity- 70% kh hl, Insect damage- 0.40%, Rotten & diseased &Discoloured- 1.0%, Immature/Shrivelled Grain- 4.5%

Total Defective Grains-2.7%

Split grain (chipped and broken)-2%, Inorganic matter(wood, sand, stone etc)- 0.5%

Live infestation- None, Organicmatter (leaves, animal droppings, dead animals, weeds, etc)-0.25%

Grade 2

Moisture Content- 12% , TestDensity- 70% kh hl, Insect damage- 0.80%, Rotten & diseased &Discoloured- 2.0%, Immature/Shrivelled Grain- 10%

Total Defective Grains-5.3%

Split grain (chipped and broken)-4%, Inorganic matter(wood, sand, stone etc)- 1.0%

Live infestation- None, Organicmatter (leaves, animal droppings, dead animals, weeds, etc)-0.50%

An upward adjustment of 1.0% ismade to the weight of the grain on deposit to make provision formoisture loss and losses during the handling and storageprocess.

The following specifications arefor the different soy bean colours:

- Yellow soy bean = min of 98%yellow, cream or golden kernels

- Brown soy bean = min of 98%brown kernels

Overall, the total Defective Grains include the sum of insectdamage, discoloured, immature/shrivelled and rotten and disease grains. Soybean can e stored for at least oneyear under suitable conditions. Soybean can be used for fat-free soya bean meal which is animportant and affordable source of protein for animal feeds and alot of packaged meals. Also, it can be used for products such astextured vegetable protein, an ingredient in many types of meatand dairy substitutes.
