AP280 is a low bit rate speech vocoder chip developed by Shenzhen MicroDevice Technology Co. Ltd, which is based on SPEEX standard, and supporting 4 types of encoding bit rate: 2150bps, 3950bps, 5950bps, and 8000bps.
AP280 has built-in FLASH and RAM and can do real-time speech encoding/decoding with single chip, no need for external storage, which make it simple for user to design their systems.
AP280 has an internal CODEC with built-in ADC, DAC, analog amplifiers and filters, no need for external CODEC. It can directly connect micphone and earphone(speaker) as a real single chip speech encoding/decoding solution. While, AP280 also has a standard PCM interface, through which it can connect external CODECs to meet some user’s requirement.
AP280 connect to MCU with UART. User can read and write encoded speech data using UART , which is asynchronous and full-duplex.
AP280 packs in LQFP48 package and support low power and sleep mode.
