Characteristics of sunflower meal The cake obtained afterprocessing sunflower seeds contains a large amount of fats,phospholipids, vitamins, proteins. The nutritional value of theproteins contained in the feed is comparable to that of animalproteins. The resulting products retain amino acids, minerals andfiber, which have a beneficial effect on the development andgrowth of animals and poultry. The content of nutrients in thecake depends on the feedstock, but its approximate composition isas follows: proteins - not less than 32%; fats - 8-15%; minerals- 5-18%; vitamins of group B (riboflavin, thiamine), A, E;pantothenic acid; carotene; a nicotinic acid. An importantadvantage of sunflower cake is its resistance to mycotoxincontamination.
