Torque limiter (also called torque limiter, safety coupling, safety clutch) , it is a part of the connection between the engine and the machine, its main function for overload protection, the torque limiter is used to limit the torque transmitted by the transmission system in the form of skidding. When the required torque exceeds the set value due to overload or mechanical failure, the torque limiter restores the connection automatically after the overload situation disappears. This prevents mechanical damage and expensive downtime losses. The torque limiter uses a spring-loaded friction surface, adjusts the spring force with a nut or bolt, and presets its sliding torque. It can be divided into friction-type torque limiter and ball-type torque limiter (ball-type torque limiter) according to its working principle.
