Commercial calcium carbonate is hydrophilic, it means the property of being easily bound to water molecules, but it has poor dispersibility for other properties. We, PMI BIOTECH has developed Hydrophobic of calcium carbonate through PMAO-PEG. PMAO-PEG changes the hydrophilicity of calcium carbonate to hydrophobicity so that it is dissolved or dispersed in oil without reacting with water. This technology is not dispersed in water and has good dispersibility in other properties (oil, etc.) and has no sediment. There is no structural deformation due to PMI own liquid process without high temperature heat treatment process.

In the process of developing this technology, there are results of experiments under various pH conditions for stability and based on the results, the desired pH concentration can be adjusted. And it is stably soluble even at low pH, and it's stable to light, heat and there is no sedimentation. Since the primary processing is manufactured by a non-firing process, there is no structural deformation even if the heat treatment process is performed during the secondary processing.
