It is prepared by hydrogen reduction of tungsten trioxide orammonium paratungstate. The process of making tungsten powder byhydrogen reduction is generally divided into two stages: in thefirst stage, tungsten trioxide is reduced to tungsten dioxide atthe temperature of 500~700oC; In the second stage, tungstendioxide is reduced to tungsten powder at the temperature of700~900oC. The reduction reaction is usually carried out in atubular furnace or rotary furnace.
