⊙ WHAT IS CINASORB (1) CINASORB is a light stabilizer and specifically classified as a formamidine UV Absorber. In general, polyurethanes are inherently vulnerable to the rapid yellowing because of their high sensitivity to UV radiation. Then, the yellowing is often followed by the significant decrease in gloss retention. The use of 0.2% to 1% of CINASORB makes drastically slow the yellowing of polyurethanes. CINASORB is easily and evenly dissolved in polyether and polyester polyols. Furthermore, CINASORB is compatible not only with polyols and isocyanate but also with other polyurethane additives such as antioxidants and HALS type light stabilizers. Especially, CINASORB is perfectly compatible with �phosphorus� antioxidants like TPP and TNPP. However, the price of CINASORB is in the same range with them ⊙ ADVANTAGES OF CINASORB (2) -CONVENIENT TO USE Surely, there is no more hassling with powder. The user-friendliness of CINASORB is most frequently referred as a strong advantage. -EXCELLENT SOLUBILITY A series of solubility tests were performed at 50°C, 40°C and 30°C with 100g of CINASORB per liter. The tests have revealed that CINASORB is easily and rapidly mixed into polyester and polyether polyols and ensures a homogeneous solution. -GOOD STABILITY Following the stability tests, CINASORB shows much slower degradation than other traditional UV absorbers such as benzophenone and benzotriazole derivatives. ⊙ ADVANTAGES OF CINASORB (3) Choosing the right absorber is not a simple task. CINASORB has been largely accepted by a multitude of customers owing to its strong features as following. - UV ABSORPTION If you have created a product susceptible to UV light attack, especially at 300 to 330nm, and you want to add UV absorber to protect your product, CINASORB is the choice. Compared with almost all conventional UV absorbers, CINASORB shows the highest UV absorbance in the range of 300 to 330nm, the most damaging area where polymers are most severely attacked. Strong UV absorbing capabilities of CINASORB are also proved by their molar extinction coefficient of above 27,000, which is significantly higher than all other UV absorbers. Further, owing to their outstanding effectiveness in UV absorption, the dosage rate can be reduced by 10 to 40% when compared with benzophenone and benzotriazole derivaties. ⊙ ADVANTAGES OF CINASORB (4) - SOLUBILITY A series of solubility tests showed that CINASORB is easily and rapidly dissolved into widely used solvents such as DMF, DMAC and so forth, while giving a homogeneous solution. Also, CINASORB promises perfect solution when incorporated into both polyether and polyester polyols. - THERMAL STABILITY Most additives are strongly challenged when facing the high temperature curing process. CINASORB stands up to the heat above 200 . In fact, in the process requiring high temperatures around and above 250 CINASORB is strongly challenged. However, if the process time is not significantly long, the thermal degradation of CINASORB is expected to be minimal.
