What is yeast beta glucan?
Yeast beta glucan is a polysaccharide that exists in the yeast cell wall and has immunity-enhancing activity. Yeast beta glucan products are obtained through cell wall breaking, enzymatic hydrolysis, acid and alkali treatment, separation, purification, drying, and packaging.
Yeast beta glucan is a polysaccharide with a three-dimensional helical structure with β-1,3-glucan as the main chain and a small amount of β-1,6-glucan branches. Glucans are widely found in various fungi and plants, such as Saccharomyces cerevisiae, shiitake mushrooms, Ganoderma lucidum, and oats, and they are the main functional substances. Because of different sources and different configurations, the activity of beta glucan varies greatly.
The yeast beta glucan produced by our company is extracted from the cell wall of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Research shows that only the glucan present in Ganoderma spores and yeast cell walls has good immune activity, called β-1,3-1,6 Glucan.
